Service Objects, the leading provider of real-time global contact validation solutions, has released an expanded version of its free downloadable database of US ZIP Codes and Canadian Postal Codes, now including geocoordinates for each delivery region.

This database, provided as a public service by Service Objects, contains each of the unique ZIP Codes and Postal Codes in the US and Canada, together with useful associated data for nearly one million unique postal codes. Specifically, the data for the United States includes ZIP Code, city, county, state, county and state FIPS identifiers, time zone, Daylight Saving Time status, and latitude and longitude. For Canada, the data includes Postal Code, city, province, time zone, and latitude and longitude.

Potential applications of these databases include populating lists for accurate postal code entry, identifying states and counties from address data, targeting outreach efforts to specific time zones, and much more. With the addition of latitude and longitude geocoding data for these postal codes, these databases now have added utility for applications such as Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and other location intelligence applications, in areas ranging from marketing to business planning.

Service Objects' leadership position in contact data quality allows us to maintain this up-to-date database of postal codes and geocoordinates and make it publicly available at no charge, said Geoff Grow, Founder and CEO of Service Objects. Our goal is to help the general public leverage postal and geographic data to make better decisions about the customers they serve.
