PCI Announces Webinar on Object Based Image Analysis with Geomatica and eCognition

Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada, April 22, 2014—PCI Geomatics announced it will hold a live webinar on Object Based Image Analysis (OBIA) with Geomatica and eCognition on April 29 at 2:00 PM EDT.

Very High Resolution (VHR) imagery is increasingly available at a lower cost, thanks to new Earth-observation satellite missions and a resurgence of lower-cost digital airborne photography. OBIA provides the means by which to take pixel information and transform it into useful information for a myriad of applications.

In this webinar, we will feature a complete, operational workflow that leverages Geomatica for pre-processing and eCognition for image classification to automatically derive impervious surfaces over an urban area using multiple sources of imagery.

Expert knowledge of how to best implement these tools will be presented by imagery processing and OBIA expert, Mr. Aaron Smith, from Equinox Analytics.
