Martin Dandridge Joins Aurora Board of Directors

MANASSAS, Va., May 1, 2014”Aurora Flight Sciences announced today that aerospace industry veteran Martin E. Dandridge has joined the company’s Board of Directors. Dandridge, who retired as executive vice president for Northrop Grumman’s Integrated Systems in 2007, has nearly four decades of management experience in the defense industry.

“Aurora is looking towards a transition from R & D to rate production manufacturing programs,” said Aurora Flight Sciences Chairman and CEO, John Langford. “As Aurora’s production rates increased, we needed someone with deep experience in aerospace manufacturing. Marty Dandridge is one of the industry’s acknowledged experts in this area and we are delighted he has chosen to increase his involvement with Aurora.”

Dandridge earned a Bachelor of Science degree from C.W. Post College of the Long Island University system after serving his country for seven years in the U.S. Navy. Following his military service he worked at Northrop Grumman focusing on technical pursuits, then contract management, with a transition to Program Management in the early 80’s.

In 1986 after completing the MIT Sloan Program for Senior Executives, Dandridge managed the Grumman ten billion dollar Joint Surveillance Target Attack System (Joint STARS) U.S. Air Force program. In 1994, after the Grumman merger with Northrop, he became sector vice president and general manager of the Surveillance and Battle Management Systems (SBMS) business unit, which combined the Space and Electronic Warfare Systems (SEWS) in Bethpage, New York with the Melbourne operation. The Joint STARS, E-2C, EA-6B and space programs were all managed within SBMS. Dandridge served as executive vice president for Northrop Grumman Integrated Systems until his retirement.
