by | Feb 20, 2013

Albuquerque, N.M., Feb. 19, 2013”AeroMetric Account Manager, Clyde Hubbard, retired after 41 years of work in all phases of photogrammetric mapping, remote sensing, and geographic information systems (GIS). Hubbard joined AeroMetric in 2003, providing support to key clients in all aspects of project design, planning, and scoping, and coordination of production activities in accordance with client schedules.

During his time at AeroMetric, Hubbard made an impression on both coworkers and clients with his dedication and work ethic. Marvin Miller, Senior Vice President of Business Development at AeroMetric notes that Clyde is the type of guy who will go out of his way to make sure that our clients are happy. His professional demeanor, great listening skills, and problem solving approach are just some of the attributes Clyde uses to not only make a good first impression on prospective clients, but to also build a lasting relationship with them based on trust and his obvious desire to put the client's needs first. All of us at AeroMetric wish him the very best in his future retirement adventures.

Hubbard was so committed to his clients that he recalls even working on weekends to provide critical services. I will never forget, Hubbard says, when one of our most important clients called us at noon on a Friday. They needed to urgently update their floodplain models due to rapidly rising waters that were causing major flooding. The client needed high accuracy digital imagery of the affected watershed to be complete before the high water conditions changed, in order to calibrate their flooding models. I had the proposal to them by 8:30 Saturday morning; we got the notice to proceed by noon, had our plane on site by Sunday, and flew the mission Monday morning. The client said they'd never seen a company be able to respond that fast.

The Geospatial Services community has always been a source of enjoyment for Hubbard. He first joined the American Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS) in 1977, and is currently up for re-election as the Director of the Rio Grande Chapter. Hubbard also teaches Photogrammetry, an endeavor he began in 2009, at Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute (SIPI). After his retirement from AeroMetric, Hubbard will continue to be involved in the geospatial community. Along with ASPRS and teaching, he plans to continue to be in touch with his colleagues at AeroMetric assisting them whenever he is able.

Hubbard's love of photography will also extend into his retirement. He looks forward to traveling in his motorhome with his wife photographing National Parks, as well combining his interest in astronomy with photography by photographing the stars.
