Airgon Technical Seminar at Commercial UAV Expo: Meet Our Guest Speakers

Please join us on Monday, October 1st for our workshop at Commercial UAV Expo 2018 in Las Vegas! GeoCue Group Inc. and its subsidiary, AirGon LLC, will repeat last year's highly successful colloquium on high accuracy mapping with low cost drones. This seminar will walk the user through the entire process of preparing for, collecting and processing data using DJI drones in conjunction with AirGon's highly successful direct geopositioning system, Loki.

We are excited to announce our two guest speakers for the seminar: 

Andrew Carey

Director of Drone Operations, Rio Tinto Kennecott Utah Copper

Andrew Carey will present on the use of drones in mining operations.

Andrew Carey is currently the Director of Drone Operations at Rio Tinto Kennecott. He has worked at Kennecott for 5 years in various roles in Short and Medium Range Mine Planning, Surveying and Mine Operations. Prior to working at Kennecott, Andrew worked in the underground coal industry as well as the mineral processing industry. Originally from Salt Lake City, Utah, Andrew began his mining career with a bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering from the University of Utah. Andrew enjoys the sport of kiteboarding as well as attending University of Utah sporting events with his wife Jessica.

 

 

 

Christian Stallings

Director of Research and Development, McKim & Creed

Christian Stallings will discuss the use of high-accuracy stereo extraction techniques using imagery from DJI drones. 

As the research and development manager for McKim & Creed, Inc., Christian Stallings oversees the company's unmanned aerial system and aerial LiDAR services. Under his leadership, McKim & Creed has grown its UAS services to include 13 remote pilots and more than 1,000 flights throughout the southern and eastern U.S. Christian has been interviewed by the Wall Street Journal, ComputerWorld, Engineer Inc., POB and Commercial AV News, and was a featured guest on the NSPS Radio Hour. He has also been published in ArcNews and LiDAR magazine. His original research comparing UAS with conventional technologies for beach profile surveys won the ACEC/NC Grand Conceptor, the highest engineering award in North Carolina. Christian is a certified photogrammetrist and a FAA-certified Part 107 remote pilot. He has a graduate degree in geographic information from Northwestern University.

 

Please note: This workshop is intended for audience members that do not currently own our Loki direct geopositioning system.
