Sanborn Appoints VP of Business Development and Sales

Colorado Springs, Colo., Sept. 2, 2014”Jason Caldwell has been promoted to Vice President of Business Development and Sales at the Sanborn Map Company, Inc. In his new role, Caldwell will oversee Sanborn's team of marketing and sales professionals, as well as the proposal process.

Caldwell is a seasoned industry veteran with 16 years of experience at Sanborn. Before his promotion, Caldwell was the firm's western region sales manager, where he was successful in securing numerous high-dollar jobs for the company. Sanborn will be hiring a replacement for this position during the coming months.

I'm thrilled with my new role and responsibilities, says Caldwell. In addition to its current high-tech, industry-leading products and services, Sanborn is ramping up its R&D efforts, with a host of new technology potential on the horizon that will broaden our portfolio.

One of the new products Caldwell refers to is the Sanborn Platform for Indoor Mapping (SPIN), a robot that autonomously maps the interiors of structures using light detection and ranging (LiDAR) technology. Sanborn also is aggressively pursuing the adoption of unmanned aircraft systems (UASs) as the Federal Aviation Administration moves closer to firming up its UAS regulations.
