Orange County Property Appraiser Acquires Revealâ„¢ Imagery from EagleView for Better Visual Representation of Parcels for Property Assessment

by | Apr 26, 2019

Orlando, FL “ Rick Singh, CFA, today announced that the Orange County Property Appraiser's office (OCPA) has added Revealâ„¢ ultra-high-resolution aerial imagery from EagleView to its collection of assets for real property assessment. Reveal is the highest resolution aerial imagery on the market today, capturing images at a sub-one-inch ground sample distance (GSD). This advanced technology will help the property appraiser and his staff keep pace with ongoing real estate growth in Orange County.

We are pleased with our continued partnership with EagleView, said Singh. This new, state-of-the-art imagery will provide the level of detail we need to assess some of Orange County's larger and more remote parcels. It is far less invasive for our property owners, an incredible time savings for us, and supports our commitment to accuracy in assessment.

Orange County is a very unique county in Florida, with seven theme parks, four water parks, and hundreds of hotels and time shares. Orange County is also home to nearly 1.4 million residents who live in more than 300,000 residential properties. The business community occupies nearly 60,000 non-residential parcels, some of which “ like theme parks “ are land masses that cover many square miles. Inspecting, measuring, and photographing these types of properties is essential in the appraisal process to determine fair and equitable market values.

We're excited to deliver this ultra-high resolution imagery to the Orange County Property Appraiser's Office, said EagleView CEO Rishi Daga. Decades in the making, Reveal offers patented technology and imagery up to 16 times higher resolution than satellite and provides details that are unmatched by any other offering on the market, enabling appraisers to be as efficient as possible even while assessing remotely.

This year, EagleView captured the imagery using a fleet of fixed-wing aircraft equipped with state of the art cameras. The imagery will be utilized by the appraisal staff immediately. Future plans include making the images available to interested interlocal partners.
