ENVITIA Awarded G-Cloud 5 Supplier Status

Horsham, United Kingdom, July 30, 2014”Envitia, the leading SME provider of geospatial software and solutions, has been awarded a position by the Crown Commercial Service to supply Cloud-based GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and services to the UK public sector through the G-Cloud framework.

G-Cloud is a UK Government initiative to encourage the adoption of Cloud Services across the whole of the Public Sector. The aim is to simplify the way that the public sector buys and delivers services and to drive down costs by allowing public sector bodies to procure standardised services from approved suppliers.

Under G-Cloud 5, Envitia is providing a full range of services that help Government to make better operational decisions through the use of geospatial information; these include consultancy activities in support of open source GIS solutions and a suite of geospatial web services using open standards.

Envitia's G-Cloud 5 offering covers Software as a Service (SaaS) technology solutions and Specialist Cloud Services (SCS) services in Lots 3 and 4.  These include a fully supported suite of Open Standards Geospatial Web Services comprising the full OpenGeo Suite in the cloud and Envitia’s GI Web Services Suite.
