by | Dec 14, 2016

Edinburgh/London, 14 December 2016 Ecometrica has been named on the prestigious Deloitte 2016 Technology Fast 500â„¢ Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) list, following a year of rapid growth and important developments for the sustainability software and data company. It caps a year that has seen the Ecometrica post record sales and profits, win awards for the Ecometrica Platform, its environmental accounting, sustainability management and satellite mapping technology, as well as build on its partnerships with NASA, the UK Space Agency and a number of top universities.

With a growth rate of almost 300%, Ecometrica is ranked 394th on Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500 list, which is a ranking of the 500 fastest-growing technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences and energy tech companies in EMEA.

Paul Sallomi, vice chairman of Deloitte LLP and global technology, media and telecommunications industry leader, said: Innovation is more than technological advancement; it's also a state of mind”.

This year's winners were selected based on percentage fiscal-year revenue growth from 2012 to 2015. Deloitte said Ecometrica grew at an average 294% over the period.

Gary Davis, chief executive of Ecometrica, said: With important new agreements with NASA, the UK Space Agency, and our partners in the commercial and academic worlds, 2016 has been a great year for Ecometrica. It is very satisfying to see adoption of our technology growing and the Ecometrica Platform being used to tackle a variety of environmental challenges facing business. Being named on Deloitte’s Fast 500 is the icing on the cake.

We more than doubled our R&D budget this year, so we are investing now in technologies that will keep our growth rate high for years to come.

Ecometrica posted a sales rise of 132% in its last financial year, to £2.77m. And with results now including the growth in the value of assets, such as intellectual property, profits hit £5.3m. In June the company was chosen by NASA and the UK Space Agency to spearhead collaboration with top universities to monitor forest and climate change, while in September a multi-million pound deal made Ecometrica’s software available across the University of Edinburgh.

During 2016, Ecometrica became the first Gold Software Partner for climate change, water and forests programmes with global group CDP, and the Ecometrica Platform scooped Environmental Leader's Product Of The Year 2016 Award.
