CustomWeather Announces Partnership with GeoView Data Services

SAN FRANCISCO - CustomWeather, Inc., a premier, specialized provider of high-resolution weather data and alert services, announced that it has been selected by Malaysia-based GeoView Data Services, Inc. to provide real-time marine weather, including wind speed and direction, wave height and direction, humidity and temperature. The weather data is utilized within GeoView’s custom software to empower their customers to make informed decisions about their offshore operations.

GeoView Data Services (GDS) develops customized, web-based software applications for use within the offshore Oil & Gas industry. Bardia Heshmati, Chief Design Officer of GDS, explains, “A key aspect of our software is the ability to monitor fuel consumption and provide logistic tools to an oil company’s chartered vessels, which can number as many as 30 vessels during special operations. Weather directly impacts fuel consumption, planning and general operations. The weather data is displayed graphically within our web-based mapping interface.”

The incorporation of CustomWeather’s data into GDS’ software has proven to be an instrumental component in the monitoring and planning tools developed for GDS client, Repsol S.A., a global energy company with extensive assets in Malaysia.

Geoff Flint, President and CEO at CustomWeather, states, “We are always excited to work with companies such as GDS, who are able to envision and understand the vast and varied ways that weather data impacts their clients’ businesses and operations. We pride ourselves in our commitment to providing highly accurate, targeted weather data in flexible formats that allow our partners to implement the data in the way that best suits their unique requirements.”
