City of Guelph: Mayor Guthrie’s 311GIS Interview

by | Dec 30, 2015

GOLDSBORO, N.C. – Geographic Technologies Group® (GTG®) has made headlines with the 311GIS application in the City of Guelph, Canada. Watch Mayor Cam Guthrie explain how 311GIS will improve Guelph by getting citizens involved. Citizens can help directly by reporting a variety of issues from potholes to noise complaints. As Mayor Guthrie says, this application serves as a better way for the “city to interface with citizens, and citizens to receive feedback”. Once a complaint in entered into the application, the appropriate staff is notified and will deal with the issue as quickly as possible. It will “help internal staff find efficiencies,”

Guthrie explains in the video, which will lead to “modernizing city services”. The end result will be a group of informed citizens and Guelph city staff working together to improve their city. GTG is inspired to be able to work with a city that is so dedicated to working with its citizens.
