by | Dec 11, 2013

Mount Pearl, NL, Canada, Nov. 26, 2013”Recognized internationally for its advanced, standards-based geospatial data management solutions, Compusult Limited is pleased to announce it has been selected by Natural Resources Canada (NRCan), through the Canada Center for Mapping and Earth Observation (CCMEO), to develop the Earth Observation Data Management System (EODMS), a turnkey, fully integrated Earth Observation (EO) image access, delivery and archive system.

Through the use of Compusult’s Web Enterprise Suite (WES), an end-to-end, Geospatial Data Discovery and Access Solution, CCMEO will obtain a system that effectively ingests data from a variety of earth observation platforms, archives the data, and makes the data available to clients in a secure and user-friendly manner. This modular, high-performance system will provide increased functionality for NRCan, government users and the general public by archiving and delivering remote sensing data obtained from several sources such as an existing ground station infrastructure, EO derived products, commercially purchased EO products and airborne products.

We are very excited to work with NRCan's CCMEO on the development of EODMS, said Barry O’Rourke, President of Compusult. EODMS will provide a more efficient way of discovering, accessing and sharing geospatial information, ensuring improved research and decision making processes.

A goal of EODMS is to not only guarantee increased access for users, but also to ensure that Canada is at the leading edge of accessing, sharing and using geospatial information via the Internet by implementing interoperable solutions.

With the deployment of Compusult’s geospatial software system, users have increased catalogue search capability, data and product accessibility, and ultimately improved abilities to use geospatial information in a meaningful way.

Compusult has established a strong reputation by providing products and services in the defence, aerospace and environmental sectors. By delivering the EODMS for NRCan, Compusult will continue to broaden its capabilities, while at the same time meeting the needs and demands of current and prospective clients.
