Lausanne, Switzerland, Oct. 28, 2013—Using Pix4D software also for Aerial imagery projects with manned aircraft revolutionizes automatic processing and therefore project delivery time drastically.
Vision Communicators in Australia has been using Pix4D software for their manned aircraft projects for over a year and are today able to reduce their project delivery time from weeks to hours. As Brian Harvey of Vision Communicators states “The main advantages of using Pix4D software for us are the easy workflow and the overnight processing that allows us to deliver projects overnight, in a matter of hours instead of weeks”.
For a Land and Building project of 80 square kilometers at 25cm GSD, carried out last month for a client, Brian Harvey was able to deliver orthomosaics to his client in only 36 hours (from project start to end, including data acquisition) compared to a delivery time of 4 weeks for equivalent projects in the past using traditional workflows that were also much more labor and cost intensive.
Pix4D software is also used for much larger manned aircraft projects, like in the case of West Coast Aerial Photography Inc. based in California, USA. One of their latest projects covers an area of 500 square kilometers and a dataset of over 1’600 images at 21.1mp each, with comparable project turn‐around timing and delivery of the orthomosaic to the client in days only.
