MGGP Aero First to Purchase UltraCam Eagle in Poland

by | Mar 19, 2013

Graz, Austria ” March 5, 2013 ” MGGP Aero Ltd. has contracted with Microsoft's UltraCam business unit and subsidiary to purchase an UltraCam Eagle digital aerial camera system with a 210mm lens, which is well suited for high altitude flying.

MGGP Aero has been providing aerial mapping and photogrammetric services to customers in the government, environmental, infrastructure and archeology sectors for over ten years. These imagery markets will benefit from operating efficiencies gained by the UltraCam Eagle's streamlined modular sensor head, light weight and exchangeable lens system.

The UltraCam Eagle sets new aerial imaging standards with its large PAN footprint. This fits well with our upcoming projects, and with MGGP Aero's new slogan ˜fly high,' said Jacek Siedlik, President. With the best technology we look forward to providing the highest quality service to our customers. We are ready for the new flying season.

MGGP Aero has continuously invested in new technology, converting from analog to digital aerial collection several years ago, and also purchasing oblique cameras and LiDAR scanners. The UltraCamEagle supports their future growth plans.

As we say here in Poland: “UltraCam – jestes pod dobrymi skrzydlami” which roughly translates to “UltraCam – you’re under our wings,” said Witold Kuźnicki, Key Account Manager at MGGP Aero. We are proud to become a part of the ˜I fly UltraCam' family.

MGGP Aero is a key player in the European aerial market, said Alexander Wiechert, Microsoft Business Director. Microsoft is pleased to establish a relationship with this emerging company.

About the UltraCam Eagle

The UltraCam Eagle features a pan image footprint of 20,010 pixels across the flight strip. In addition to the ultra-large image footprint, the UltraCam Eagle includes enhanced electronics for improved frame rate and less noise (72 dB signal-to-noise ratio for high image dynamic) when compared to previous UltraCam systems, and innovative high-resolution, high-performance lenses and state-of-the art CCD technology (@ 5.2 µm pixel size) for sharp images with a high dynamic range. The UltraCam Eagle is the first multi-cone digital photogrammetric camera to offer an exchangeable lens system with 80mm (standard) and 210mm (tele for high altitude flights) and includes filters with curved characteristics to flatten out vignetting. This digital camera system boasts a new housing concept with everything integrated into a modular sensor head. Compared to previous UltraCam systems, the smaller physical form factor of the UltraCam system requires less aircraft space, weighs less for more efficient aircraft fuel consumption, and is easier and quicker to install.
