NORCROSS, Ga., USA, March 25, 2015 ” Hexagon Geospatial and Intergraph Security, Government & Infrastructure (SG&I) are pleased to announce they are celebrating the 10-year anniversary of supporting the Land Survey Office of the Czech Republic in the development and expansion of the ČÚZK Geoportal.

Since its inception in 2005, the ČÚZK Geoportal has provided spatial data and services for the territory of the Czech Republic, which includes 10.5 million citizens in a nation spanning 78,866 km2.  The ČÚZK Geoportal serves as the foundational site for sharing all geospatial data with the various government departments, as well as the public, in the Czech Republic.  It also contains an e-commerce engine for purchasing and downloading various services, including file data, as well as printed maps.

The ČÚZK Geoportal has become a fundamental part of ensuring that our geospatial data management and mapping efforts fully support our nation's ability to best leverage this information in proactive ways, said Petr Dvořáček, Land Survey Division Manager at the Land Survey Office, Mapping and Cadastre (ČÚZK).  Hexagon Geospatial and Intergraph have been instrumental in making this effort an ongoing success.

Supported by the Hexagon Geospatial EMEA team and Intergraph SG&I in the Czech Republic, the ČÚZK Geoportal portal solution provides up to five million map tiles per day with the clients incorporating data from other portals, as well as other GIS applications at public administration offices “ all completed via thin and mobile clients.

We are excited to have played such a critical role the growth and development of such a vital tool for the Czech Republic, said Mladen Stojic, President of Hexagon Geospatial.  The portal is a prime example of how any national can develop a single, robust resource for sharing and managing all spatial data.

Over the last 10 years, the ČÚZK Geoportal has been enhanced with many updates and extensions of configurable services, which includes opening viewing services for the public, e-commerce updates and mobile support for Android and iOS.

The ČÚZK Geoportal utilizes a wide-range of solutions from Hexagon Geospatial, including GeoMedia, GeoMedia WebMap, and ERDAS Apollo.
