Boundless Named in GovTech 100

Washington D.C  — Boundless, the world leader in commercially supported open source GIS software, has been named on the GovTech 100 Top Innovation Companies Focused on Government.  Government Technology and e.Republic Labs put together this list of the “leading 100 companies focused on government as a customer.” According to the editors, the list “reflects hundreds of hours of work to identify, verify and qualify companies using publicly available information, media reports and interviews with parties familiar with the market.”

Companies on the list were selected because they developed an innovative or disruptive offering to improve or transform government.

Boundless is committed to building innovative geospatial solutions using open source software. Many of its customers work in the government sector, using the Boundless Geographic Information System (GIS) platform to build, manage and share geographic content. Far beyond just making maps, government agencies use the Boundless offering for sophisticated geographic analysis for planning, resource allocation, asset tracking and much more.

Recently, Boundless announced a GIS platform developed using open source projects. This platform allows government agencies to access the full breadth of open GIS technology without the risks of vendor lock-in and expensive licensing costs.

“We are very proud to be selected to the GovTech100 list.” comments Andy Dearing, CEO Boundless. “It has been amazing to see the adoption and promotion of open source GIS within the government, fully embracing the value and flexibility it brings to their organizations.”
