Heerbrugg, Switzerland, March 5, 2014—Leica Geosystems has announced the launch of its first wireless router for continuous monitoring, the Leica ComGate10. As integral part of Leica Geosystems’ mobile communication solution M-Com, ComGate10 is the first plug and play router on the market that offers users fast and fail-safe wireless data transfer, with the added benefit of a secondary back-up communication type for total security.
Easy-to-use and ergonomic, the ComGate10 can be installed quickly and simply, with data from connected monitoring sensors available online immediately. The sensors can be configured via the connected monitoring software. The wireless router is fully compatible with all Leica Geosystems monitoring sensors and software, and can enhance the functionality of Leica Nova sensors.
As part of a fully integrated monitoring solution, the Leica ComGate10 router allows users to transfer data remotely to any mobile internet connection world-wide, including wireless UMTS, LTE and any off-site LAN infrastructure. Offering complete peace of mind, the new router from Leica Geosystems can automatically switch to a secondary option should the primary channel be unavailable, ensuring around-the-clock high-speed data transfer for scanning and imaging information. In addition, the Leica ComGate10 can reboot connected sensors for uninterrupted monitoring.
Enhanced multi-functional integration
The ComGate10 can replace more complex systems by offering users a range of functionalities, including multi-sensor connections. The router can switch digital input and output channels and activate emergency instant messages, lights or sirens, as well as webcams or third party sensors, to offer enhanced integration for comprehensive monitoring. The device can also be remotely operated by SMS and is supported by standard IT protocols, such as firewalling, bridging and DynDNS, for secure data transmission.
The ComGate10 can be installed quickly and simply and connects all sensors to make the monitoring data available online immediately. Designed for on-site use in a range of environments, the router is ergonomic and robust, making it suitable for use in a variety of different monitoring projects, such as dams, mining sites, bridge maintenance, high-rise buildings and landslide risk monitoring.
