Radar satellite instruments, such as those on the European Space Agency’s Sentinel-1 satellite, can see at night and through clouds. Research funds from Saab and RUAG Space are funding radar advancements to detect climate change.

The Blekinge Institute of Technology in Sweden recently received a research grant from the Knowledge Foundation to improve remote sensing imaging tools to better monitor climate change.

The $2.3 million investments will help to further develop radar and radio remote sensing technology. Funds were provided by Saab and RUAG Space.
