Firm will produce record drawings and capture GIS data in Loudoun County, Virginia.

Loudoun Water in Loudoun County, Virginia, selected Dewberry to produce record drawings and capture geographic information systems (GIS) data for its potable water, reclaimed water, and wastewater systems. Dewberry was one of three firms to receive an award under this contract.

The firm is providing survey-grade positional measurements for the infrastructure and will use those measurements to produce the record drawing and create associated GIS data. The data collected will be used for new water, reclaimed water, and wastewater construction projects. Future Loudoun Water projects involving the construction of water, reclaimed water, and wastewater pipelines will use this process. Dewberry performed a GIS needs assessment for Loudoun Water in 2002 and completed the first Record Drawing and GIS Data Capture task order in 2008.

We look forward to collecting GIS data and producing record drawings for Loudoun Water to help them with their future construction projects that will serve thousands of people and businesses in the county, says Dewberry Senior Project Manager Andrew Peters, GISP.

Loudoun Water provides water and sewer services to approximately 72,000 residential and commercial accounts, serving more than 200,000 people in Loudoun County, predominately in the eastern portion of the county. It is composed of more than 2,000 miles of water, reclaimed water, and wastewater pipelines.
