The first image from Terra Bella’s SkySat-3 shows Chicago, with its Soldier Field and Lake Michigan shoreline among the highlights.

Within days of its launch aboard a Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle from the Indian Space Research Organization on June 22, 2016, the SkySat-3 satellite from Terra Bella (formerly Skybox Imaging) delivered its first images.

From a 500-kilometer sun-synchronous orbit, SkySat-3 captured an image of Chicago on June 25, 2016. The company plans to launch 19 similar satellites, each weighing about 120 kilograms, by the end of 2017.
