by | Apr 9, 2014

Toronto, April 7, 2014”Optech, the world leader in the development, manufacture and support of high-accuracy lidar 3D survey systems and productivity-enhancing workflow software, is pleased to announce that it will exhibit a new compact sensor configuration for the Optech Lynx MG1 Mobile Mapperâ„¢ at SPAR International 2014 from April 14th to 17th and offer both a technical presentation and workshop on Optech Lidar Mapping Suite (LMS).

Visitors to the Optech booth 210 can learn about the new sensor setup for the Lynx MG1, specifically designed to improve installation flexibility with a compact footprint that reduces system weight and roof space. With the single lidar sensor, IMU, GNSS antenna and optional Ladybug® camera combined on a single platform, users can install the new configuration on a vehicle's roof in minutes, making installation a snap. Attendees interested in seeing how the installation works can head outdoors to see the new system setup for themselves.

At his workshop on April 16th in the 11:45am-12:15pm technical session, Product Application Specialist David Janssen will teach attendees how to optimize their survey efficiency using a combination of best practices, post-processing techniques, and the Optech LMS workflow. Users seeking a specific case study regarding the power of LMS can attend David's presentation in the 9:00am-10:30am 3D data management session on April 17th, where he will describe how he used the tie-plane identification abilities of Optech LMS to automate the merging of separate collects in Vernon, British Columbia, a task that would normally take hours of manual work.
