Press Release: Dr Winnie Tang of Esri China (Hong Kong) to Keynote at GSDI 15 World Conference

With a PhD in Science from the University of Hong Kong, Dr. Winnie Tang JP has over 20 years' experience in the industry of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and is the Founder and Chairman of Esri China (Hong Kong) Limited, one of the international offices of Esri. Dr Tang will make a Keynote presentation at the GSDI 15 World Conference in Taipei, Taiwan.

 

Esri is one of the top 50 software companies in the world, expert in Geographic Information System (GIS) technology which is extensively adopted in both public and private sectors across the globe.

 

Over the years, Dr. Tang has promoted technological and social developments by writing articles and serving the society. She shares her views regarding smart city and entrepreneurship to instill positive attitudes in the community. To date, she has published 6 Chinese and English books and over 200 research papers, newspaper articles and journals. Some of her current appointments include Member of Election Committee (IT Subsector), Advisor of Our Hong Kong Foundation, Founder and Chairman of Steering Committee of the Smart City Consortium, and Board Member of AeHIN (Asia eHealth Information Network).

 

In recognition of Dr. Tang's works, she was made a Distinguished Alumni for HKU Faculty of Science in 2009, was among the Ten Outstanding Young Persons in 2006, and received the Women of Influence “ Young Achiever of the Year Award by the American Chamber of Commerce in 2004.
