Intermap Chooses Global Mapper for Enterprise-Wide Spatial Data Production

Blue Marble Geographics is pleased to announce that Intermap Technologies® has signed an Enterprise License Agreement (ELA) providing unrestricted access to Global Mapper and the Global Mapper LiDAR Module throughout the company’s data management and processing operations. The success of Intermap’s business is intrinsically linked to the quality of its spatial data product offerings and the company’s decision to integrate Global Mapper into its production and delivery workflow is a compelling testament to the capabilities of the software.

Blue Marble’s geospatial data manipulation, visualization, and conversion solutions are used worldwide by thousands of GIS analysts at software, energy, mining, civil engineering, surveying, and technology companies, as well as government agencies and academic institutions.

Intermap’s decision to deploy an enterprise license of Global Mapper reaffirms the company’s fifteen year commitment to the software. Global Mapper provides the company’s workforce with a powerful and efficient set of tools for visualizing, converting, reprojecting, analyzing, and exporting spatial data in a wide variety of formats. Not only will Intermap technicians benefit from having unlimited access to this core functionality, but with the inclusion of the powerful LiDAR Module in the ELA, they will be able to employ the foremost point cloud processing tools to improve the quality and usability of their extensive LiDAR datasets.

Global Mapper was chosen by Intermap because it offers the perfect balance of powerful GIS functionality, affordability, ease-of-use, and simplicity of licensing. The software epitomizes interoperability with support for over 250 spatial file formats, as well as all common spatial databases and online services. It provides intuitive tools for creating, converting, reprojecting, editing, cropping, tiling, and mosaicking datasets of any size, and with its powerful 3D visualization and terrain creation functionality, it is ideally suited for Intermap’s production workflow.

“We are delighted that Intermap, a company with a worldwide reputation for superior data products, is committed to using Global Mapper.” stated Patrick Cunningham, Blue Marble President. “Our business relationship with Intermap was established many years ago when we provided access to the company’s data through Global Mapper’s WMS portal. It is satisfying to know that the quality of this data is being maintained using the same software.”

“Global Mapper has become an increasingly important component of our spatial data management toolkit,” added Bruce Engelbert, IT Director at Intermap. “Having universal on-demand access to this powerful software through the Enterprise License Agreement means that we can maintain maximum productivity without having to micromanage our licensing process”.
