Washington, D.C., Oct. 29, 2013”Effective May 21, 2013 Aero-Metric, Inc., a Quantum Spatial company (AeroMetric), has been awarded an Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Remote Sensing Contract to provide Aerial Imagery for Incident Management to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). ¨¨The award allows AeroMetric to be contracted directly by the DHS mission, component, or field offices to provide rapid delivery (within 48 hours) of processed imagery and/or LiDAR information in the event of an emergency to support incident management and other DHS goals.
Services AeroMetric can provide include, are not limited to emergency response and recovery, law enforcement, environmental, and facilities related missions nationwide to support incident management and homeland security missions throughout DHS. The services will focus primarily on the acquisition of airborne imagery and remote sensing data (LiDAR).
AeroMetric's Vice President of Federal Programs, Scott Perkins said The DHS recognized how valuable imagery is for emergency management purposes. Giving them access to imagery from before, during, and after incidents allows valuable insight to be gained with regard to response and rescue operations, damage assessment, debris removal, and providing support to citizens affected.
