Daytona International Speedway Hosts "The
Great American Race"
In anticipation of the Daytona 500,
DigitalGlobe released a QuickBird satellite image of the Daytona
International Speedway on Feb. 13, 2004. The 60-centimeter image was
collected Feb. 13, 2003. This year's
race, held Feb. 15, was won by Dale Earnhardt Jr. Although the
Daytona 500 garners most of the attention, the enormous 480-acre
motorsports complex boasts the most diverse schedule of racing on
the globe, earning it the title of "World Center of Racing."
