A shot of Tokyo's Narita
International Airport was among the first set of sample images released
Dec. 18, 2003, by ORBIMAGE from its OrbView-3 high-resolution commercial
imaging satellite. The samples include
imagery from around the world collected at 1-meter resolution in
OrbView-3's panchromatic imaging mode (black and white) and at 4-meter
resolution in the multispectral (color) mode. Collected since the
successful launch of OrbView-3 on June 26, 2003, the sample images are
available for download at ORBIMAGE's Web site
www.orbimage.com.

According to Alex Fox , ORBIMAGE's vice president of Products and
Solutions, the samples reflect the company's initial product offering,
which will be marketed under the OrbViewBASIC brand name. Additional
samples will be released in January 2004, along with the company's
pricing and product catalog. ORBIMAGE's entire range of products is
expected to be ready before the end of 2004's first quarter.
